Emeritus

Dain's wife and family are humbled and very pleased at the extraordinary step taken by the University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees in appointing him to the prestigious rank of emeritus.

The leadership demonstrated by President Steger,
Dean Papadakis, and Department Chair Kapoor
in the events since Dain's death
reflect a sensitivity and integrity 
which honors the University
and all those associated with the school.

We can think of no higher recognition than this,

one reserved for only the most accomplished

and revered members of the teaching family.

Knowing that Dain made contributions
deserving of this honor
in such a short time

both deepens our grief,

and increases our joy.

We extend our gratitude to the staff, faculty, and students
who have cared enough to keep Dain's memory alive,
while reaching out to us in so many ways.
